The treasurer’s report was read and approve by motion of Wayne Mitt and second by Sheila Wells.

We have been approved for the Adopt-A-Highway  program. Our road is south of the bowling alley on CTY Hwy A. We will wait until spring to do our first clean up.

Dallas Trail- We are continuing to find ways to reduce the amount of road trail by talking to land owners for more access. Some land agreements have been signed so that work can begin this spring after the thaw.

Rusk County Trail from south of Chetek-There are five townships that the trail will go through. Duane will attend the township meetings to get approval for a trail route to Rusk County. Part of the trail will go across an earthen dam and we also need approval from the county to cross it.

Duane has talked to Dave Moen about the tenth of a mile on CTY Hwy M to get to Lynda’s Lakeshore Resort.

Rice Lake Trail is still on hold because Canadian National has not agreed to sell the railroad yet.

The bridge over the Red Cedar River has tentatively been approved. The county will provide the engineers, materials and installation of the bridge. We may have to cut down a few trees. For now, the grant is  only for the bridge. There is enough room to develop a trail head with parking lot, pavillion and rest rooms with future grants.

Atv safety course- We will have a safety course sometime in May. Details of the training have been tabled until next meeting.

New city maps have been printed. We have three sponsors this year- Sterling Bank, B and B Bar and Grill, and the Chetek Resort Owners Assoc.

New county maps are in process. There is still time for new sponsors. This is a two year map. If you know of a business that wants to be on our map, let Duane know.

The Town of Prairie Lake offered to rent the old town hall to us for $1 per year. Motion to decline by Derek Traum and second by Lisa Traum. Motion passed to decline offer.

Duane proposed that the club buy a two axle trailer that can be hitched behind an atv. The trailer is 7 ft. long with a 2500 lb. capacity. The box on the  trailer has hydraulics for dumping.  This is a new trailer and delivered price is $1054.00. Motion to purchase by Derek Traum and second by Al Matson. Motion carried.

Welcome to new members: Ryan & Erica Lentz, Kevin & Teresa Beres, Shawn & Kristi  Ayers, Tim Peterson, and Ardell Bauman.

A Christmas card was received from Wayne and Jane Mittlestaedt.

We received a copy of Red’s Community Give Back Program. Any organization that would like to sell Red’s gift cards, will receive 10% of the total amount sold.

The brush pile was burned on Saturday, January 14, 2012. It didn’t take long for it to burn down to a few logs. By noon it was ready for the hot dogs.

A winter club ride was mentioned. With so little snowfall, it is hard to make  plans at this time.

Next meeting is February 19, 2012.

Respectfully submitted,

Loretta Wozniak, Secretary
